Wednesday 14 Oct 2009

Sorry, we haven't kept this up better. Life gets in the way and I don't think about it and frankly, I have a hard time remembering how to get onto the blog.

KC is doing well but cold. It was 8 degrees Monday morning. We need to send him more thermal garments. They had a wild fire about 10 miles form where he is living and he wanted to go play firefighter but you know how it goes. :-) He was on a bike in his first area but is in a car now so he is a little happier. (I guess cold weather has some benefits.) He's had a cold lately but feeling a bit better by now. KC is in Lolo Mt. now which is south of Missoula up in the mountains. He says it is a beautiful area.

He has a baptism scheduled for the 24th so he is excited about that. They are trying to get 50 discussions the last week of the month too so they will have their work cut out for themselves.

I'll try to keep this up a little better in the future. Stay in touch.

I just got another E-mail from KC. He says they are working more with inactives than investigators and feels like he is home teaching all the time but figures that it is payback because he wouldn't teach when he went home teaching with me before he left. The letter we got the other day said he wanted to throw his bike in the river as he was tired of riding it. He sounds good and seems to be enjoying himself for the most part.

e-mail address

If you want to send KC an e-mail, you can send it to my address then I can forward it on to my parents. It's robin.heaton@gmail.com.

Robin
Hello from st. george. This is Robin, Elder Heaton's sister. I will be maintaining this blog for all of you who are interested in how Elder Heaton's mission is going. He can only e-mail one person in the family so that of course falls on my parents e-mail account. We can however, send one mass e-mail of everyone's letters all together. Other than that, it is snail mail for the rest of us. KC flew to Montana on August 4. He called from the airport. It was nice to talk to him for a few minutes. He sounds happy and excited about the work. Right now Elder Heaton is in Powell Wyoming on a bike. His knees are hurting him, but he is pushing through it. He just had a zone conference and had a lot of fun with that. He says the work is slow so they do alot of trackting. It's starting to get cold already in Montana, something that he isn't used to, so he is starting to wear his jacket already! They eat at member's houses every night. KC says that he is just loving it! If you want to snal mail Elder Heaton his address is
Elder KC Heaton
1174 Road 9
Powell, Wyoming, 82435
Keep the letters going, I know he appreciates them! For some of you, I know he didn't have your addresses so If you write him, he will write back.
Thanks,
Robin

Welcome to the MTC!!!!

Here's pics of KC going to the MTC. It was sad to say goodbye, but the fed him all you can eat icecream when he got there so it wasn't too bad. He made friends with some missionaries going to Hungry and has some pics of them hanging out...more to come when he sends some home. Elder Heaton liked the food there because it was all you can eat. His companion's name was Elder Adams from Highland, UT.
